Cagliari Sardinia
Today consisted of a nice stop in Cagliari Sardinia, kindof near Sicily. I had a training thing in the morning, mostly about customer service/guest relations. Following that, I made my way into the city, and as usual, with no real plan or direction. The city was beautiful, maybe not so much as Ville Franche, but still quite nice. However, with today being Sunday, everything was closed. I didn’t have much time in the city, so the lack of things to do wasn’t a major concern. I did however walk to the top of the hill the city is built upon to find a couple great views, as well as grab a panini and gelato on the way back to the boat. They were ok, not great, but I needed to get something related to the culinary culture. I then had a rehearsal back at the boat, grabbed dinner, played two shows for a great singer named Paul Emmanuel, and then had a jam session with the band in the lounge on 14, the Cosmopolitan. The players really have some chops and love to play, maybe not the strongest rhythm section for combo playing (great for the show band though), but overall a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I was only up for two tunes…we only had an hour. But overall, nice day, tomorrow will be spent at sea sailing to Malaga I believe, making it my first full day at sea! Talk to you soon!
